Self Terror

Eleanor from The Haunting of Hill House seems to be her own worst enemy. While there may be something more sinister than what has so far been seen by the party, most of what has scared them has been relatively innocent – a large, empty house would be inherently creepy. The slight offsets in the walls would be offsetting. Eleanor has an absolutely vivid imagination, which she tends to get caught up in. She makes up these fantasies with intricate details. Possibly, out of all of the characters in this story she is the most likely to be frightened by the house. To be in a room, alone, at night, with only the noises of an old house and your vivid imagination would be terrifying.
