23 snapshots of S.F.

In “Twenty-Three Snapshots of San Francisco,” Seth Lindberg reveals the fall of San Francisco through twenty-three snapshots, with a narrator describing what is happening in each. In the gaps between the photos, the reader imagines screams and terrors more horrific than any amount of detail the author could have given us. It has a unique way of representing the ‘zombie’ catastrophe. The narrator takes a lot of pictures of his friends, for example there is a picture of Bradley’s face before he’s killed and another picture of the man who developed his photos. These pictures represent his memories. The narrator is not as afraid to see some of the scary memories such as the death of his friend and this is unusual and scary to the viewer .  We might ask ourselves why his reaction is not as strong as we would like it to be.
