The Father Thing

In “The Father Thing” children are the ones that know all things rather than the adults. Charles goes to his friend’s house to tell him what is going on with his father. Kids have the sense of belief and collectivity that the adults do not have. It shows that kids are more aware than their parents when it comes to observing change such as the one Charles noticed in his “father.”  At the end of the story, with the organic quality, there is a sense to whether something is real or not.  There is also a sense of where the thing or creature came from and not sure who has become the thing and who has not.  This displays confusion to both the reader and the characters within the story because they themselves do not know what is part of their reality.
